Superkarting is the pinnacle of karting, providing exciting racing at the world’s greatest car racing circuits. At speeds of up to 260km/h drivers can experience G-forces of over 3.5G thanks to lightweight, purpose-built superkart chassis with aerodynamic bodywork and engines that put out over 100bhp at the wheels. It has been said by ex-Formula 1 race winner David Coulthard that “the men and women who drive superkarts are superheroes!”. Certainly the thrill of driving these machines matches the intensity of the racing spectacle provided!
Superkarts Australia caters for three separate categories of superkart. The fastest are the 250 International superkarts, which run twin cylinder 250cc 2-stroke engines. These superkarts are generally easy to spot out front and run with a yellow and black number plate.
The next category is the 250 National class, which run a single cylinder 250cc engine. They run a different white and black number plate.
The final category is the 125 National class, which run a single cylinder 125cc engine. These run with red and white number plates. You will see a lot of slipstreaming action in this class as they push each other toward the finish line!
